The bar is made out of solid ABS plastic so it allows the letters to slide freely unlike many cheaper quality sets the the bar warps and makes putting in and out the letters very hard.
To keep the letters in position without having to use tape or balls of fondant Custom Cookie Cutters have developed an original product called "Letter Locks" these slide on to the bar lock the letters in place perfectly.
